FARIDPUR, May 11, 2014 (BSS) - Overseas Employment and Expatriate Welfare Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain said here yesterday evening that Bangladesh is a unique example of communal harmony where people of all religions live in peace and happiness.

The minister was addressing a big gathering on Sreeangan
premises in the town in observance of the 144th birth anniversary
of Lord Jagadbandhu Sundar, the spiritual leader of Mahanambrata
sect of sanatan Hindu community. The leader of this community
during his life time had preached for peace and casteless society
for the welfare of the mankind. Lord Jagadbandhu was born in 1871
and died in 1926.

Referring to religious harmony now prevailing in the
district as well as across the country, Mosharraf said that only
Awami League can ensure peace and prosperity for all shades of
people and religious faiths and to perform their respective
religious rites without any hindrance.

A nine-day festival already started on the premises of
Sreeangan where thousands of people both from home and abroad are
attending the religious hymns and other religious activities,
besides joining a fair.

Chaired by President of Sreeangan Mahanam Sangha Kanti
Bandhu Brahamachari, the function was attended among others by,
Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Police Super Jamil
Hassan, Pourashava Mayor Sheikh Mahatab Ali Methu.

The largely attended function was addressed among others by
Sreeangan leaders Haripriyobandhu Brahamachari, Biggyanbandhu
Brahmachari, Manash Bandhu Brahamachari ,Awami League leaders
Advocate Subal Saha, Mokarrom Mia Babu, Puja Udjapan leader
Sukesh Saha and industrialist Joshoda Jibon Debnath.

Nine meritorious students of the area were given merit
scholarships by the minister.
