DHAKA, Aug 15, 2015(BSS)- A wax statue of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been put on display at Kolkatas and Indias lone wax museum, Mothers Wax Museum, according to reports reaching here today.

The secretary, ministry of information of the Bangladesh government, Mortuza Ahmed, participated in the unveiling of the statue. Mortuza was invited by the chairman of West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd Debashish Sen.

The statue was set up on August 14, 2015, a day before India's Independence Day.

The museum was set up last year (2014) in the new township located north-east of Salt Lake City.

The museum is modeled after London's Mother Tussaud's Wax Museum and houses prominent personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Param Hansa Dev, et al. Now Bangladesh's Founding Father has also found a place there.
