4th July Conflict Management Day: Urge for An Annual Bangladesh Celebration
In 2014, in order to increase public awareness about conflict management in Bangladesh and its many benefits, Freedom Fighter Delwar Jahid, a pioneer of grassroot human rights, President of Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA), Bangladesh Heritage & Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA) and Chief Advisor of Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF) of Canada make an appeal to Bangladesh people to observe "Conflict Management Day" on July 4 of every year, the day is very significant for the martyrs’ (Shahid) FF Nuru-Atik who sacrificed their life in the liberation war on that day.
An appeal made to Bangladesh Government to adopt a resolution designating the day July 4, 2014 as Conflict Management Day. BPCA will coordinate the efforts with all other organizations and will reach out to local, municipal, upa-zillas and the Districts and also with the expatriate community and international groups to build interest in holding celebrations in conjunction with Conflict Management Day.
The Conflict Management Day in Bangladesh will be going forward from July 4, 2014 and BPCA and MJMF cosponsoring and launched a week long conflict management celebrations this year. Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF) already lay out a book publication on conflict management that titled “A Conceptual Perspective of Conflict Management”, written by Delwar Jahid, Research Fellow of St. Paul’s College, University of Manitoba, Canada.
