DHAKA, Jan 5, 2015 (BSS) - Prime Minister's Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury today called for not using the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) as the centre of any political party's programmes.
He made the call at a press conference at JPC this evening.
Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) president Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and former general secretary of JPC Shafiqur Rahman were present on the occasion, among others.
Iqbal said Press Club is not a place of politics. "It is a place of professional journalists. National leaders will come here and we entertain them. But, no political programmes should not be held here," he added.
Iqbal demanded to identify and sentence the persons who are involved with breaking the frame made from glasses where names of martyred journalists of 1971 were inscribed.
